Head of Marketing

 

Location: Southern Europe/Mediterranean Sea

 

Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Marketing, 

  • the Head of Marketing (HoM) is accountable for leading the marketing and consumer insights functions of the company.  

  • The role is responsible for managing brands, category and selling plans to ensure short and long term sustainability by preserving and building our consumer loyalty.   

  • The HoM is also entrusted to lead and develop a diverse and multi-disciplinary team.


Key Accountabilities

Strategy & demand generation

  • Develop and oversee Brand and Category strategies, drivers and key assumptions to shape the future of the Brands by driving long term strategic opportunities.  

  •  

  • Lead price & promotion strategies and contribute to route to market plans for both new entries and existing market expansion. 

Insight and analytics 

  • Drive creation of Category opportunities, recommending long-term strategies for portfolio and brand development.  

  • Lead customer and consumer benefit-based thinking in this area. 

  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of the Demand Plan through realistic estimation of market demand. 

  • Develop deep consumer knowledge and share it effectively with relevant cross-functional stakeholders
     

Innovation and renovation

  • Lead regional innovation and renovation vision, objectives, and strategies to support successful execution of bigger, bolder and better innovation & renovation.

  • Support in the flawless execution of I&R projects from concept and design through to post launch 

  • Bringing visibility of innovation and renovation pipeline together from different stakeholders.

  • Brand and field marketing

  • Provide stewardship of portfolio health and strong brand building results measured by sales, margin contribution and market share. 

  • Manage internal and external changes impacting plans and budgets and actively participate in cross functional reviews. 

  • Evaluate, adopt and maintain policies, procedures and internal controls ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements mitigating risk. §

  • Take full ownership of marketing P&L inclusive of design, production and launch of marketing campaigns across regions within budgeted demand and leading to outstanding execution.

Communication

  • §Lead and develop regional communication plans to engage with the trade and consumers using various media platforms including digital and social media.   

  • §Direct public relations activities internally and externally along with the design team.

 
Structure & Leadership 

  • §Structure and lead the Marketing team ensuring appropriate skill, team culture and talent development.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education

  • §Master’s Degree in Marketing or business related discipline. A leadership course undertaken within a senior management role would be an advantage.

Experience

  • Demonstrated career progression of 12 or more years with at least 8 years’ experience in a marketing and sales function within the FMCG industry. Multi-category experience and management would be advantageous. §

  • The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in a mid to senior leadership role having managed brand, trade marketing or innovation teams.

Technical skills

  • Development of consumer marketing strategy with expertise in market research techniques §

  • Demonstrable experience in strategy development and deployment and success in driving margin enhanced growth in sophisticated manufacturing and complex channel environments. §

  • Full knowledge of media platforms and trends driving the media industry in identifying the most effective ways to command consumer attention. §

  • Expertise in delivering innovation and renovation projects meeting growth and margin targets §

  • Solid experience in category and portfolio management across channels with customer facing time driving retail execution. §

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with seasoned P&L management §

  • Effective Internal and external stakeholder relationship management with experience in public relations and managing corporate as well as market events. §

  • Able to demonstrate strong team and cross functional leadership §

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office products, ERP and expertise in risk management
