Malta Quality Control Team Leader m/f/d

Location: Malta/ European Union/Mediterranean Sea

  • The role reports to the Head of Quality and is responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meet set standards of quality, reliability, and performance following both national and international standards.

  • The role also involves the continuous monitoring of site performance and site audit readiness through continuous walkthroughs, non-conformance investigations and proper system setups.

Tasks

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensuring that all products meet quality standards by testing them to identify defects or measuring them to ensure that they meet legal requirements. Maintain proper records of quality test, procedures, and standards.

  • Monitoring equipment performance to ensure that they continue to function correctly.

  • Recommending changes in process/methods or materials to improve product quality or yield.

  • Reviewing records of incoming raw materials to ensure that they meet specifications for use in production.

  • Recording data about production processes and specification for use in developing and improving quality control standards for future production runs.

  • Lead and create material risk assessments and process improvement plans.

  • Monitor product development and processes to identify deviations from quality policies.

  • Prepare and present reports to update upper management on quality activities.

  • Approve compliant products and reject defective ones

People Management

  • Supervise and lead technical staff to ensure they perform their duties in line with established quality procedures.

  • Ensure adequate training and development of personnel within the quality control structure to meet quality and food safety standards.

  • Enforce standards for health and safety during work operations

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor in Food Science/Food technology, or related field (Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry); Master’s degree, of advantage.

  • Minimum of 6 years of quality assurance/quality control experience within food manufacturing operations, of which 2 + years in leadership role.
