Senior Account Manager D-A-CH Coating Systems Solutions m/f/d

Location: Homeoffice Germany


Education: Food Technology or similar, minimum 7 years experience in technical sales in the taste area

Languages: English and German

  • Co-ordination/Implementation of Business Plan that accommodates business growth to required levels:

    • prioritise workload in co-ordination with line manager and business priorities

    • be aware of and maximise sales of key added value product lines

    • agree quarterly, key issues/targets within personal ledger with line manager

  • Personal account management of key customers within the ledger:

    • maintaining regular personal and telephone contact

    • ensuring customer relationship is managed and maintained to a standard which exceeds customer expectations

    • involve customer service team where appropriate, keeping them abreast of changes/issues within individual accounts

  • Administration:

    • maintain all required call reports to Company standard

    • collate, issue and act upon sales analysis reports,

    • ensure that relevant Head Office departments are kept up to date with changes to customer base/details

  • Training and development of people within the sales team where appropriate:

    • utilise sales meetings to share knowledge and experiences

    • spend time when requested with new colleagues

  • Achievement of budgets as a minimum for all product groups and ledgers via the implementation of the Business Plans.

  • Control of fixed costs to within issued guidelines. 

  • To ensure that other functions within the company are fully aware of the requirements of our customers and to ensure that the appropriate level of resource is focussed onto key areas.

  • Undertake training as and when required by the business.


Scope of duties:

  • Responsible of all sales activities in the assigned market (B2B and in the 2nd step step Food Service, e.g. QSR

  • Identify business opportunities at existing and potential clients

  • To manage all commercial issues related to designated accounts

  • To initiate and coordinate development of action plans to enter new clients

  • To work closely with the internal NPD department and with the R&D department of our clients

  • To set realistic and challenging sales budgets for designated clients, showing profitable sales growth where market forces allow, and in line with department strategy

  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance 

  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing
